Description
Strong, compelling, animalistic, sumptuous Lagrein Staffes, awarded with 3 Gambero Rosso glasses. The small and virtuous Kornell winery produces it in Settequerce, a hamlet of Appiano. One of the best-drunk Lagrein reserves, a real renaissance in the mouth! A convincing Lagrein from the Kornell estate (located north of Bolzano), aged for 18 months in oak, has an intense dark purple red color. A very specific nose that mixes sweet ripe blackberries with fresh hints of red currents, a floral touch reminiscent of rose petals, wood spices, seasoned with a whiff of bitter chocolate. Medium-bodied with an elegant, fresh and juicy structure, a good core of fruit, soft tannins and a flattering salty minerality.
